Configuring the UEFI/BIOS correctly is one of the most important steps in getting a hackintosh to work smoothly. Here 👇 are the best BIOS/UEFI settings for a motherboard with the Z390 chipset.

Before we begin, it is always recommended to reset the settings to factory defaults as they are a good point to start from.

Also note that these settings are specific to ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F, but they also apply for any motherboard with a Z390 chipset.

Misc Configurations

If you are using a liquid cooler, set Monitor / CPU Fan Speed → "Ignore" for UEFI to stop complainting about CPU Fan Error.
